In questo 5 capitolo della serie Fast and Furious, finiti a Rio De Janeiro dopo aver liberato Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker) e Mia (Jordana Brewster) cercano di salvarsi affrontando due temibili nemici: un ricco affarista corrotto e soprattutto l'agente federale Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson), che mette su una squadra all'unico scopo di mettere le mani sui fuggiaschi. Ma sarà facile per quest'ultimo distinguere i buoni dai cattivi?

Il racconto di questa turbolenta redenzione è affidato al lungo flash back di un Jacob, ora novantenne (Hal Holbrook), che ripercorre con la mente le acrobazie del suo numero più rischioso: l’amore per Marlena (Reese Witherspoon). Un amore proibito, perché si dà il caso che lei sia la moglie del sadico direttore del circo (Christoph Waltz), oltreché inarrivabile vedette dello show.

Bucarest è una metropoli molto diversa da come la si immagina, così come Eva, vent'anni, dolce e orgogliosa come un'eroina della nouvelle vague, è molto diversa dall'idea che abbiamo delle "immigrate" rumene.
